This firmware adds 3D manual option to HDMI mode. This helps when 3D signal is not detected automatically through HDMI. Please download the firmware from HERE.
1. Copy MERGE309.BIN to empty USB flash drive or USB drive with no other upgrade files
2. Switch off TV
3. Connect USB drive to USB port on back of TV
4. Switch on TV and go to DTV source. Press the SOURCE button. While the SOURCE LIST is still displaying on the TV screen, press 9999 on remote. The screen will go blank. Power indicator light will blink red and blue. The TV will switch off itself and power indicator light will stay on solid red when upgrade is finished (If upgrade does not start after entering 9999, please switch off unit and switch it on again. Unit will start firmware upgrade again.)
Cheers for that. The above link doesn't work though on my laptops on multiple web browsers. It says "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to ftp.quatius.com.au" I also tried at a mates house and it goes to blank white screen and wont load.
Hi Lambert,
I've tried to follow your instructions here but my TV seems to do nothing when I press 9999. It just changes the channel?
The USB is formatted in Fat32 and only that file on it. I just doesn't seem to want to do anything.
Am I missing something here because I am trying to play 3D movies from .mkv files on my PC and i'm getting a split screen problem such as the movie is displayed twice on the screen usually side by side however this movie is playing top and bottom. This suggests the TV is not detecting the file to be a 3D movie (This happens when you put a 3D movie into a 2D Blue Ray player).
Most 3D TV's read file headers or check the title to have 3D in it unfortunately the L42D11A doesn't seem to have this functionality. However the firmware update may potentially provide a workaround to this issue.
Hi Peter,
Please make sure no other files are in your USB flash drive and it contains only the MERGE309.BIN file. Also, after you pressed the SOURCE button, enter 9999 on remote while the SOURCE list is still visible on the TV screen.

cant recieve 3d signal from foxtel iq 2 box using sonic high hdmi.
when in 3d menu unable to switch on 3d,have tried using usb and are able to select 3d and all works.
do i need to update the software?
any help greatly appreciated
Hi Rob,
Please update the firmware first. It surely helps to solve this problem. Also please switch on TV first before switching on other 3D devices (Blu-ray, Foxtel...etc) as other 3D devices will "look" for 3D TV when they boots up. If no 3D TV is detected they will not enable the 3D output signal.
